Phyllis Schlafly's Final Words Praise Donald Trump

Phyllis Schlafly, a conservative commentator and constitutional lawyer, recently passed away at the age of 92. According to Western Journalism, she would use her final column to draw some parallels between former President Ronald Reagan, and this year’s Republican nominee, Donald Trump.

The article has struck a chord among conservatives, as has her sudden passing. Schlafly is considered a conservative icon, and the fact that her final column dedicated space to another conservative icon in Reagan has not gone unnoticed.

“Donald Trump’s surprise visit to Mexico, where he met the Mexican president and discussed the many contentious issues between our two countries, reminds me of President Reagan’s important trip to Geneva in 1985,” she wrote.

She went on to note the connection that was formed between Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, which she credits as a direct result of Reagan’s desire to “to build a personal connection between the two men without sacrificing America’s vital interests in the Cold War.”

Donald Trump took a moment to honor the memory of Schlafly, whose final book, ‘The Conservative Case for Trump,’ was also recently released,

“The truly great Phyllis Schlafly, who honored me with her strong endorsement for president, has passed away at 92. She was very special!” he tweeted.
