A Photo Of President Obama Is Going Viral On Social Media - Here’s Why (Photos)

They say stress ages you, and what job could be more stressful than that of Commander in Chief? It is amazing what eight years can do to a president, and the unusually youthful President Barack Obama is no exception.

When President Obama first took his oath of office back in 2009, he was one of the youngest presidents in the country's history. There was not a noticeable gray hair on his head. His complexion was smooth and unwrinkled. You might even remember the famous photos of him frolicking at the beach, putting his buff upper body on display.

Like his predecessors, the pressure of being the leader of the free world took their toll on Obama. As he exits office at age 55, his hair is nearly all gray. His face, while not badly lined, definitely shows the worry lines on his brow, and the 'laugh' or 'frown' lines around his mouth have dramatically deepened.

The president has still managed to stay fit. There have not been any shirtless pictures published of him recently, however he's still looking trim thanks to slipping in some basketball.

Author Michael Roizen wrote a book about how presidents age, entitled, “Real Age: Are You as Young as You Can Be?” According to Roizen, presidents age more rapidly than average people. After studying medical records of presidents from the 1920's to the present, he told CNN in an interview, “The typical president ages two years for every year they are in office.”

“Obviously, I’ve gotten a little grayer since I took this job, but otherwise I feel pretty good," said the president after his first term in office. "And Michelle, you know, says that she still thinks I’m cute — and I guess that’s all that matters, isn’t it?”

First Lady Michelle Obama has recently referred to the president as ‘swagalicious’ in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, and when it comes down to it, her opinion is the only one that matters.
