People Notice Something Odd About Obama After He Is Spotted For The First Time Since Leaving Office

Photos of former President Barack Obama playing golf on Saturday show the president looking tired and pensive on his first day as a civilian again. The 44th president traveled with the smallest motorcade he's had since his own presidential campaign in 2008.

Obama putted around the Porcupine Creek Golf Club on Saturday, situated in Palm Springs. The Obamas took a quick weekend at Rancho Mirage, the posh, exclusive city in California. At first, bad weather caused their plane to detour, but the skies cleared up by Saturday.

Flanking the former president were Secret Service members, fixtures to which Mr. and Mrs. Obama will have to get used to in their post-White House life. In 2013, the president signed a bill that gave all presidents, past and future, life-long secret service protection. Before then, presidents only had secret service protection for 10 years after leaving office.

Obama looked relaxed and comfortable on the 18-hole private course with a small golf cart motorcade. He drove his own cart, chatted with his golf companions and stopped for sandwiches.
