People Furious When They See What Rapper Is Doing To White Boy In Video
The use of shock tactics remains a tried-and-true method for up-and-coming acts that are attempting to make a name for themselves. Sometimes it works, while other times it fails spectacularly. There’s no foolproof formula, and that’s lead directly to a countless number of questionable tactics being used. As the Daily Mail shares, we can now add this Florida rapper to the lengthy list.
The rapper in question is XXXTentacion, and his latest music video contains some highly questionable scenes. The video for the song ‘Look At Me’ actually shows him lynching a young white boy, completely with the boy’s hanging and eventually going limp. XXXTentacion’s desire for folks to look at him has been satisfied, but not everyone likes what they see. In fact, numerous users have completely assailed him on social media.
“I'm actually disturbed at the video of XXXTentacion featuring a young boy being hanged. This is beyond a joke,” shared one user.
“Don't make excuses for this sickness, simulated violence towards children is not cool or progressive. Not even to make a point. It’s dangerous,” added another commenter.

“I have a huge problem with xxxtentacion and his new video. It doesn't have anything to do with equality what so ever,” chimed in another user.
Another user took the rapper’s controversial video to mean that he hoped to start a race war.
“If the RACIST POS xxxtentacion gets his race war, who do you think will be left standing?” the user wrote.
At the end of the video, XXXTentacion deliuvers a lengthy message to get his point across.
“Equity and equality. The end result we all, the ones that don't want to live in misery, desire. The youth is never inspired to make a stand to make a difference so I will speak for them,” he says. “Are you willing to risk your child's future due to your own bigotry? The choice is yours but your child will not stand for the hate. This generation will be loved, nurtured, heard and understood.”
So why couldn’t he just say that in the first place without resorting to using such an offensive piece of imagery? The jury’s out on the official word on that, but we have a feeling it has something to do with the attention his little stunt generated. In any event, there are some users that gave the video a thumbs up.
“If you can't comprehend what xxxtentacion meant with the look at me video maybe you're just too stupid,” said one user.
“He was simply trying to show how the next generation would be affected if race wars went on,” wrote another commenter.
Perhaps, but the message gets lost once he uses a disturbing image. That’s the double edged sword of using shock tactics as a means to raise your profile or get your point across. You may very well get the shock and awe reaction you so crave, but few will take notice of anything else you have to say.
