Passerbys Notice Something Bizarre Sticking Out Of Walmart Shopping Cart, No Clue As To How It Got There

Deputies and the public alike are confused as to how a 5-foot shark ended up in a car park at Walmart in St. Augustine, Florida. When employees found the shark in a shopping trolley in the carpark, they hesitantly called officials to the scene. Assistant manager Amy wasn’t sure what to do when she found the large, dead shark in a shopping trolley near a parked RV when she came in for work one morning. When she called the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office and informed them of the situation, they didn’t believe her, sending Deputy Blake Gruny to investigate the claim.

Telling Deputy Gruny she didn’t want to throw the animal in the trash, Amy asked Deputy Gruny to call Florida Fish and Wildlife officers, who came and removed the shark from the parking lot. Despite there being surveillance available, the area in which the shark was found could not be seen on video, leaving officers baffled as to how the shark could have got there. Deputy Gruny made contact with the West Virginian man who owned the RV. He told Police he was sleeping in his van while trying to find some work in Florida. When he heard noises outside his van early that morning, he assumed that the Walmart workers were transporting carts through the parking lot, and thought nothing of it. When he came out and found the shark on the hood of his RV, the man admitted he was surprised but proceeded to place the shark in the shopping trolley and left the car park. His RV was not damaged during the incident.

Police were further bewildered when another citizen filed a report of a dead shark in their driveway when they woke up on the same morning at their home in nearby North Beach. Silas Ware III, an employee at the store, revealed although he has seen some strange things while collecting trolleys for the grocery store, the shark was “one of the bizarre things I’ve [he] has ever seen”. Tentative investigation is ongoing at the time of writing.
