Parents of Teen Uber Shooting Victim Hold Painful Press Conference

On Monday, Vicki and Gene Kopf held an emotional press conference about their daughter Abigail Kopf, 14, who survived a shot to the head by Uber driver Jason Dalton, 45. Dr. Aaron Lane-Davies told reporters that the teen is on a ventilator and is in critical condition.

Mrs. Kopf was tearful when she said, "My daughter is not dead. She is alive and she is fighting for her life. I want everybody to understand that. Abigail is strong and she is a vibrant, beautiful, young lady. And she did not deserve this. And neither did her grandmother or those other victims."

Abigail was initially pronounced dead before she was able to squeeze her mother's hand. Her mother said Abigail has been trying to squeeze her arms and is wiggling her toes.

In a prepared statement, Abigail's father said the teen loves theaters and musicals, is athletic and loves animals, especially wolves.
