Parents And Students Offended By Teacher's X-Rated Test

A teacher at Betty Fairfax High School in Laveen, Arizona was recently put on leave for handing out an unapproved, inappropriate and extremely questionable quiz. The female teacher was interested in learning the teens' deepest and darkest desires.

It was handed out to 9th through 12th graders with many uncomfortable questions. It started out with “Are you irritable sometimes?” and “Would you like to learn to be a pilot?” Then, it got to other odd questions such as if the teens would ever consider attending a “wife-swapping party” and asked if they only prefer “ordinary sex” or if they ever watched pornography.

The more salacious questions were placed in between the normal questions, making it seem as if they were "safe" to answer. Karina Vegas’ 15-year-old son was given the quiz and felt so uncomfortable and ashamed about the questions that she said he refused to tell her what some of the more deeply personal questions were.

Vegas said, “I think it was very, very, very inappropriate for my 15-year-old son to get those questions." Several upset parents called the Phoenix Union High School District to complain. The principal of Betty Fairfax High School immediately addressed the issue.

A letter was sent to all parents, apologizing for the quiz, stating that it was “inappropriate, highly personal, and even offensive." District spokesman Craig Pletenik said, “It is regrettable it happened."
