Parents And Disabled 8-Year-Old Girl Yelled At By Woman On Their Plane - Situation Takes A Terrible Turn

One family of six took a much-needed vacation, something they rarely got to do. On the plane ride home, their disabled young daughter had a meltdown, and a woman on the plane screamed at the family. The mom posted an account of the incident to social media and it's gone viral. Many people have expressed disgust at the grown woman's behavior.

Nicola Colenso and her partner Rick Murray were returning home from a trip to Ibiza when their daughter Yasmin became noisy and distressed. Yasmin, age 8, suffers from Sturge-Weber syndrome. Her condition includes epilepsy, glaucoma and autism. The child used to have 200 seizures per day, but after her most recent brain surgery it's been reduced to about a dozen.

Despite Yasmin doing better, she still has her bad days. Unfortunately, she had a bad day on the flight home, despite a doctor declaring she was 'fit to fly.' For the entire 2 hour and 20 minute fight, Yasmin made noise.

"Will you shut that child up!" a woman yelled, reports Colenso.

When Murray tried to explain, the woman allegedly told him that the noise had "gone on long enough and I'm sick of it. Can't you shut her up?"

Colenso says the family ignored the woman and focused on Yasmin. The child was in such distress that she had to be hospitalized after the flight. Her mother explains she 'went limp and lifeless, her lips went blue.'

Colenso posted a picture of the woman who yelled at the family and wrote an open letter to her. She is shocked and pleased that the story has gone viral and many people are admonishing the woman for being selfish.

"I just hope that by sharing what we experienced it might make people think before reacting like this," said Colenso.
