One Man's Selfless Act Makes A Big Differences - Improves Lives Of Three People

In a heart-warming and random act of kindness, a homeless man was able to offer a helping hand to another man who was denied service at a restaurant in Spinningfields, Manchester. Akbar Badshah, a 36-year optician from Queensbury, Yorkshire, had travelled to a popular Brazilian restaurant named Fazenda. However, when he arrived, Mr. Badshah was told that he could not eat at the restaurant as he was wearing sandals, a violation of the establishment’s dress code.

Mr. Badshah was immensely disappointed, having travelled to Fazenda to celebrate his wife’s birthday and break the fast of Ramadan, a holy month in the Islamic calendar. After being denied entry, Mr. Badshah and his wife, Rozmin, were not sure what they could do next.

However, while they wandered the neighborhood, Mr. Badshah came across a homeless man named John, sitting on the pavement with his Labrador. In an interview with the Manchester Evening News, Mr. Badshah told a reporter what happened next, saying: “We left the restaurant and I got chatting to this homeless fellow John on Deansgate.”

After telling John about what had happened, the generous man offered to help, with Mr. Badshar saying: “I said, ‘John what size are you’ he said ‘14’” telling the Manchester Evening News that “I’m a size 9 so it’s a good job it wasn’t the other way round.”

John immediately came to Mr. Badshah’s rescue, with the thankful man reporting that: “He said: ‘You won’t believe this, but I’ve got a brand new pair of shoes from an outreach project’, and he said I could borrow them, so we swapped shoes."

The unbelievable act of kindness allowed Mr. Badshah to celebrate his wife’s birthday by taking her to the restaurant they had originally planned to dine at. After a perfect evening, Mr. Badshah quickly returned to find John and thank him for his kindness. To say thank you, Mr. Badshah returned the shoes and offered the kind stranger £10. However, it took an enormous amount of convincing before John would take the money with Mr. Badshah saying: “He wouldn’t take it. I said ‘please, please I want to give it to you.'”

In an amazing turn of events, as Mr. Badshah was thanking John and trying to persuade him to take the £10, another kind stranger walked past. After overhearing Mr. Badshah’s story, the stranger bent down to stroke John’s Labrador, passing the man a £50 note.

John was awed by the generosity of the two strangers and Mr. Badshah describes how “John couldn’t believe it. It was unbelievable karma. He kept saying he didn’t want anything in return. I gave John a hug and we took some photos together – we just felt so touched by what he had done.”

This heart-warming story just goes to show that people with the least to give can actually be the most generous. The incident has been extremely well received by online commentators, many of whom are praising John’s selflessness and inquiring as to his current whereabouts.

Thanks to John, they could keep their dinner plans.
