One Bizarre Infraction May Put O.J. Simpson's Chance Of Getting Parole In Jeopardy

OJ Simpson was up for parole today, and the world was watching. The Juice has been behind bars at the Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada, serving a 33-year sentence stemming from a 2008 conviction for a botched robbery attempt in Las Vegas. The judge in that case threw the book at him, and it was widely viewed as payback from him walking away with a not guilty verdict from the so-called ‘Trial of the Century.’

According to the Daily Mail, an unexpected wrench has been thrown into things. A prison insider claims that The Juice was caught getting handsy with himself, and that’s a big no-no in the pen.

“OJ is facing a disciplinary hearing after being written up for masturbating in his prison cell. He was caught by a female corrections officer making her normal rounds in late June,” the source claims. “While it's not the most serious charge to be written up for in prison, it's serious enough that any potential parole date maybe be delayed.”

Reports indicate that Simpson has been a model prisoner during his time in the joint, but treating his body like an amusement park may be too much for the parole board to look past.

“OJ is sweating bullets over his write up. He had been intentionally laying low for the past few months to avoid any problems and now this write-up could cost his freedom for his planned October release. He is his own worst enemy,” the insider added. “Before being caught masturbating OJ definitely believed he was going to be granted parole after the July 20th hearing, but now he seriously is worried that may not happen.”

On October 3, 1995, Simpson was found not guilty of the brutal murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and an acquaintance, Ron Goldman, on June 12, 1994. The case has come back into the spotlight in a big way in recent times due to a number of high-profile programs that outlined the salacious details.

Many observers feel that the trial was completely botched by the prosecution. A subsequent civil trial found that he was liable for the deaths, and Simpson has been paying monetary damages ever since.

“If OJ doesn't make parole this time it's going to devastate him, he is planning on being granted parole and leave Lovelock on October 1,” the insider continued. “It's going to be up to the parole board to decide whether or not his violation is going to play a part in his planned October parole date.”

OJ's parole board ultimately decided that he was eligible for parole. This means he could walk free and will be eligible to be released on October 1. If that were to happen, there will be a veritable media frenzy unlike any that we’ve seen before. We can expect a whole slew of programs, specials, books, and interviews, as the public just can’t seem to get enough of The Juice.
