Officers Take A Minute To Determine Why Kids Were Lying Face Down On The Ground

In England, a police helicopter was on call when they noticed a group of children in a field. They initially thought they were playing a prank, as they were all lying face down in the dirt. Soon enough, the officers figured out they were trying to form an arrow to help them with their pursuit.

A group of 30 children and their parents had met in a field to have an Easter egg hunt to raise money for a young boy with leukemia, when they suddenly heard a helicopter approaching. The kids soon realized that the police were searching for someone.

One of the girls said, “It was really noisy and we could see it said ‘police’ on the bottom. Then we saw a man running along the side of the field. We could see him but the helicopter couldn’t because it was hovering over the woods.”

They didn't catch the officers' attention through pointing and screaming. That is when two kids thought of the idea to lay on the ground and form an arrow. The group laid on a ground for approximately a minute before the pilot realized what they were doing. Their efficient and quick thinking helped the helicopter notify the officers on the ground. The two suspects were apprehended.

Another girl shared, “About five minutes later, the helicopter came back and landed in the field and the officers came to talk to us. They said they thought we were messing around at first, but they followed our arrow and caught the men. We feel really proud of what we did.”

The Surrey Police released a photo of the kids' human arrow,' and it went viral. At the request of their parents, the children have remained anonymous.

The Easter egg hunt was also a success. They raised $170 for the one-year-old boy with leukemia, and helped officers arrest two men on suspicion of burglary.
