Officers Send Kaepernick Special Message, Leave Millions In Shock

There’s a good chance that more time has been devoted to discussing the fact that former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick can’t find a job than any other job-seeker in recent memory.

A few years back, Kaepernick rocketed to fame off of the strength of his play on the field. He took the NFL by storm, and he looked like he was going to be one of those revolutionary players that transformed the game. But as of last year, that hadn’t exactly come to pass.

The league caught up to Kaepernick, and his skills went into decline as well. Whether that’s a coincidence or not is unclear, but it’s quite clear that Kaepernick was not as good as he once was.

Outside of his trials and tribulations on the field, Kaepernick drew attention to himself by refusing to stand for the national anthem last year. In his mind, he was making a statement against racism and oppression.

He would go on to make a number of inflammatory statements about our nation’s law enforcement officers. His words did absolutely nothing to help solve something that he claims to be so passionate about, but it did help inflame folks even more.

Kaepernick’s behavior angered many, but many also came down on his side. Fast forward to today, and the unemployed football player has become some sort of a folk hero.

Only in the country that he rails so hard against and refuses to respect! Kaepernick is being portrayed by vast segments of the mainstream media as if he’s some kind of martyr, and the fact that he can’t find a job is being branded as a vast conspiracy.

The fact that he has had opportunities are dismissed, as are the rumblings that he’s insisting on starter’s money when he’s nothing more than a backup at this stage of his career.

As Yahoo shares, a group of New York City police officers gathered on Saturday to throw their support behind Kaepernick.

“What Colin Kaepernick did is try to bring awareness that this nation unfortunately has ignored for far too long,” noted NYPD Sgt. Edwin Raymond, an organizer of the rally.

“And that’s the issue of racism in America and policing in America. We decided to gather here today because of the way he’s being railroaded for speaking the obvious truth.”

While few can deny that there are problems in many communities between members of law enforcement and the communities they represent, it remains incredibly unclear exactly what Kaepernick has done to help that situation.

He called attention to himself, disrespected our national anthem, unleashed a barrage of insults at members of law enforcement, wore socks to practice that depicted police officers as pigs, brandished a t-shirt that portrayed Cuban leader Fidel Castro as some kind of hero, and continually plays the victim card despite earning millions of dollars throughout his career.

Outside of that, it’s certainly easy to see why he’s such a folk hero. Kaepernick will remain unemployed until he comes to terms with the value he currently brings to the table. Period.

Attempts to portray that as something resembling a conspiracy are laughable, as are attempts to portray Kaepernick as anything resembling a hero.
