Officer Goes Above And Beyond For Shoeless Homeless Man

Kenya Joyner, 43, was called to escort a homeless man from the bus service for not having shoes--which, breaks the bus rules. The homeless man was allegedly being "disruptive."

Joyner, of the Delaware River Port Authority, asked the man why he was barefoot. He told him that he didn't have any footwear. Then, Joyner decided to buy him a pair of shoes across the street at a Payless store. He spent $45 on a set of size 12 boots.

Kayla Palmer noticed the generous actions and recorded a video of Joyner saying goodbye as the homeless man slipped his feet into his new boots.

She approached the officer and said, "That was nice of you, I wanna shake your hand--getting him some shoes." Joyner happily shakes his hand but is shy about Palmer telling him she is filming so thousands could hear about his good deed.

Joyner spoke to the Philadelphia Inquirer saying that his colleagues do it all the time without getting famous. Palmer added, "I could tell he was really humble. He didn't want any recognition for it."
