NY Times Gets Backlash For Praising On Kim Yo Jung, Slamming Pence

Vice President Mike Pence and Kim Yo-jong, sister of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, attend the Winter Olympics opening ceremony and shared a VIP box. On Sunday, the New York Times couldn't seem to heap enough love and praise on Yo Jong, claiming she stole the show from the VPOTUS.

They even went so far as to call her the 'Ivanka Trump of North Korea'.

The adoration of a woman who belongs to a family of brutal, violent dictators has a lot of people scratching their heads.

According to the New York Times, Kim’s ‘sphinx-like smile... managed to outflank Mr. Trump’s envoy' at the Olympics when it came to diplomatic images.

While Pence continued to push the 'old message' of sanctions for North Korea until Ms. Kim's brother gives up his efforts to acquire nuclear weapons, Ms. Kim 'delivered messages of reconciliation'.

The Times slams Pence for refusing to greet Kim, shake hands or exchange a word with her. He also declined to attend a dinner held by Moon Jae-in, South Korean President, with Kim and her brother, Kim Yong-nam, ceremonial head of the North Korean state.

The lengthy article that sang the praises of Ms. Kim did not sit well with a lot of people. Social media practically exploded with backlash at the NYT for forgetting one little tiny detail: the so-called 'charming' Ms. Kim is part of a regime that runs concentration camps, and hundreds of thousands of prisoners have been brutally tortured and raped in them.

"She “outflanks” him in operating concentration camps, starving citizens, torture, rape of female prisoners, and murdering her own family members. Your glowing coverage of this tyrannical regime is insane," Tweeted Dana Loesch, a conservative commentator.

"All you need to know about the media’s not-so-secret love for Marxist dictatorships can be seen in their treatment of the collectivist machine-like behavior of North Korean cheerleaders and the Chinese Olympics opening ceremony," responded Ben Shapiro, another conservative media pundit, in a tweet.

"The New York Times believes that Mike Pence, our Vice President, and the psychopathic North Korean crime family that starves, mutilates and murders millions of its people over generations are, ya know, basically on the same level," said radio talk show host Buck Sexton.

"You’ve got to be kidding me," remarked Ari Fleischer, a former White House press secretary.

And it turns out that it's not just conservatives who are slamming the Times for the glowing article that paints Ms. Kim as a celebrated delegate. Extreme leftist media outlet, BuzzFeed, published an article reminding people of who the NYT was praising.

"I didn't realize this needs to be said, but before you decide to stan Kim Jong Un's sister, please remember to NOT do that. Her family literally runs gulags," tweeted BuzzFeed News.

In their article, BuzzFeed calls Kim a 'monster', and reminded readers that the woman is not trying to defect. She's rumored to run the Propaganda and Agitation Department for the North Korean regime; she's all in with things like public executions, slavery and nuclear war against the U.S.

Mike Pence's communication's director, Jarrod Agen, summed things up nicely in a tweet to the NYT. "In one country, you are free to write that headline. In the other, you are not. (Don’t think any smiles at the Olympics changed that.)"
