No One Believed Her Nephew Was Being Abused, So She Posted These Terrifying Photos

The abuse of children is one of the most horrific, repulsive crimes that can a person can be convicted of. When the abuse is perpetrated by a child’s family members, the crime becomes even more sickening. In one particularly unnerving case, a jealous ex-girlfriend became enraged after finding out that her former boyfriend and mother of her child had begun seeing another woman.

The deranged mother, Janelle Peterkin, decided to take out her anger on her own child, an innocent 1-year-old boy. In a horrifying attempt to manipulate her ex-boyfriend, Peterkin sent the boy’s father pictures and videos, showing her purposefully endangering the life of his son. One of the pictures was allegedly accompanied by a text reading: “Sad that he that pressed to cheat after he just begged me to be his girlfriend. That's okay. We can keep playing. Let's see how bad y'all wanna be together.”

The shocking images that Peterkin sent have since surfaced across the internet and show a range of immensely disturbing forms of abuse, including: the young boy with a plastic bag over his head, Peterkin holding a lighter on the child’s fingertips and her physically hitting the innocent toddler. However, in a fortuitous turn of events, it turned out that Peterkin’s ex-boyfriend wasn’t the only one who received the horrifying images. The young child’s aunt, a brave woman named Ra'Neicha Broadnax, is believed to have approached authorities with evidence of the abusive behavior. However, the horrified aunt was angered by the bureaucracy and inaction of police and took to Facebook to vent her concerns.

In an effort to highlight the danger to her nephew, Ms. Broadnax posted the distressing videos on Facebook, saying: “She stuffed the bag in his mouth, then he was throwing up, he was gagging. She burned him on his hands with cigarettes.”

An hour after Ms. Broadnax uploaded the disturbing content, Peterkin was arrested by police on charges of endangering the life of a child. Peterkin was released after paying a $15,000 bond and is now required to stay 200ft from her son. The young toddler is allegedly being cared for by concerned relatives.
