News About Teenager Kidnapped By Her 50-Year-Old Teacher Has Finally Surfaced

The high school teacher in Tennessee who is wanted for kidnapping his 15-year-old student might be trying to refill a prescription, authorities warn. Police say pharmacists should be on the lookout for the wanted pair.

According to new reports, 50-year-old Tad Cummins, the suspect wanted in connection with the kidnapping of 15-year-old Elizabeth Thomas, needs to be on blood pressure medication, and his supply may be running low. Authorities say it's possible the former teacher might try and have that prescription refilled sometime soon. Employees at pharmacies, particularly in Tennessee and Oklahoma, should be on the lookout for the suspect, his victim, or for the two together.

Cummins allegedly had a romantic relationship with the young teen and the two disappeared on March 13. The girl's sister says Thomas predicted that the teacher was going to take her and was afraid. Thomas woke her sister up the morning of her disappearance and said, "Hey, 'I'm going to be back at 6. If I'm not back by 6 call the police."

Thomas never came home. Since then, the only confirmed sighting of the two was in an Oklahoma Wal-Mart parking lot. A multi-state search is underway.

Despite reports that the teacher and student were romantically involved, police are not treating the relationship as an affair or the disappearance as voluntary; Cummins is believed to be exercising control over Thomas and manipulating the minor. Thomas, who was too young to give legal consent, is being treated as a victim and authorities issued an Amber Alert. Cummins is wanted for aggravated kidnapping and sexual contact with a minor.

Jill Cummins, the suspects wife, has filed for divorce. The day of the disappearance, the father and grandfather left his wife a note, but police do not believe it contains accurate information. They believe Cummins was trying to throw authorities off the trail with the note, though details about what the note contained have not been released.
