Mother's Form Of Punishment Too Extreme, Now She's Dealing With Social Services

Recently, a mother was caught administering an unusual form of punishment in response to her son's anti-gay remarks. According to The Herald Online, “The mother said she was ‘punishing her son for fighting and making homophobic remarks in school,’ the report states. She added that he has been having behavioral issues, and “corporal punishment has been ineffective, so she was attempting to embarrass” her son as punishment.”

After the son's anti-gay remarks, the mother shaved his head, wrote the word "bad" on his forehead, put a wig on him, dressed him in a "women's teddy," tutu and boots, then paraded him around Walmart in her unique attempt to teach him a lesson.

Rock Hill Police Department Captain Mark Bollinger stated that customers in the Walmart “saw the family come through and thought the situation was ‘strange.'” Bollinger also said that “Apparently what the child said about ‘gay children’ was inappropriate. We’re in the south and that shakes the conscience of people around here.”

The police report that the child is 10-years-old. The mother has since been turned over to social services and may have to take parenting classes.
