Mother Wonders Why Her Son Isn’t Going Into The School Building - Realizes What He’s Doing

One mother knew her kindergartner was late for school, so she dropped him off and told him to hurry to class. The young boy ran up toward the school doors, but just before getting to them he stopped in his tracks. His mother was so proud she snapped a picture.

Royce Thompson, a 6-year-old Santa Fe student, was on his way into Wollam Elementary School, when he heard the Pledge of Allegiance. Instead of ignoring it and running to class, the little boy stopped, stood at attention, and put his hand over his heart to recite the pledge.

A police officer standing near the door was surprised when she saw Royce stand to honor the pledge. Other kids were racing by him, hoping to avoid getting into trouble for being tardy, but Royce felt it was more important to show his country respect.

“I couldn’t believe that he acknowledged that that was a moment of, you know, you need to stop do the pledge and he just did. He just ignored all the kids around him and kept doing it. And it was awesome,” said Officer Cibby Moore to Fox 26.

After he said the Pledge, Royce threw in a quick prayer: “Thank you God. Thank you for giving me a wonderful day,” he said.

Royce's mother posted the picture of him to Facebook. Not surprisingly, it's gone viral. Many patriots hope others will follow Royce's example.
