Mother Learns What 13-Year-Old Daughter Was Hiding, Immediately Calls Police

A 22-year-old registered sex offender is accused of trying to lure girls on social media while posing as a teen.

Authorities say Christopher Michael Scott sent a 13-year-old girl explicit photos after he met her on the site meetme.com. The sex offender posed as a 16-year-old boy named “Jake Wolf,” according to KOIN 6. He only chatted with the 13-year-old for about an hour, when he asked the girl to meet up with him.

“I looked through the messages and was just completely disgusted with what I saw,” the girl’s mother said. “On those apps you can be pretty much whoever you want to be.”

Detectives say he asked for sexual photos of the girl in return and that there may be other victims.

“I think all parents should have passwords to their kids’ social media,” the girl’s mother said. “The more involved you get, the better off you are.”

She is the one who alerted police to the conversations after having a “gut instinct” when finding her daughter’s tablet under her pillow. Police also said that parent should get their children’s passwords and restrict them from chatting online after certain hours. They also advised parents to sync their child’s phone with the home computer.
