Mother Arrested For What She Did To Her Children For Finding Their Christmas Gifts

An Indiana mother is facing charges after police say she beat her two young sons after they opened their Christmas gifts early.

Mom Sascha Collins is currently facing two counts of battery, according to local media sources based on court filings.

Collins' 7- and 9-year-old sons reported to law enforcement that they were thrown against the wall of the family home, and were punished because they opened Christmas presents hidden in their mom’s closet.

Collins allegedly hit the boys with a belt buckle and even bit one of them, an Indianapolis tv station reports.

The boys’ teenage sister came home later to find her brothers crying and saw the marks and bruises on their bodies. The sister went to an adult for help in contacting authorities, the Hancock County prosecutor Mark Eaton noted.

“She was put in an incredibly difficult situation. There’s a lot of adults -- put in that same situation, maybe they don’t want to say something, they don’t want to rock the boat," he explained. "She put somebody else’s interests in front of her own and she did what was right."

The sister informed law enforcement that her mother had been drinking and snorted a hydrocodone pill. When she came to, Collins discovered the boys had opened the Christmas gifts.

"They had done what children do on Christmas morning; perhaps things may have been a bit messy,” Eaton commented.

Collins apparently told investigators that she loves her children and tries to do everything she can for her kids, but they are disrespectful, out of control, and that she simply lost her temper.

Fortunately, the injuries received by the boys did not require more than cursory medical attention.
