Mom's Baby Complimented, Then He Makes Her Skin Crawl After Leaning In And Saying This

A mom from Shelby, North Carolina was picking up a few things at Walmart with her one-year-old daughter when a friendly stranger approached them.

Tiana Langer explained in an interview with a local TV station that when the man seemed to be making friendly conversation at first. She noted:

“He said, 'How did you get that cutie?' and I just thought he was being friendly.”

According to Langer, the conversation took a “weird turn” after that, as the man started trying to touch her one-year-old girl.

She posted about her experience on Facebook:

“He grabbed her arm tight and tried to pull her out my arms as he said, “I would take her home with me.” I said, “We don't go to strangers,” and he said, “I'm not a stranger, I'm just a friend she hasn't been with yet.”

Langer noted that she just walked away holding her daughter at that point. Her post continued:

“We spoke to management and they told us to call the police so they came out and watched the surveillance cameras got a picture of him and said they would post it at their department.”

Langer also said that while watching the store surveillance video, law enforcement investigators saw the same man manhandle two other children before he left the store. The video showed him slapping one of the children on their rear.

The man left the store on his own without further incident.
Langer wrote that what worried her the most was that she “didn't know what his intentions were”:

In an update, the suspect grabbing the children was eventually identified as Eric Richardson. A few hours later, Richardson was arrested on one count of assault on a child under 12. Local media sources are reporting that Richardson later made bond and was released from jail.

Langer's Facebook post also highlighted that the Shelby Wal-Mart has banned Richardson from the premises.
