Mom Pregnant With Twins Thrown Out Of Restaurant For Outfit

A woman who was seven months pregnant with twins tried to beat the heat on a night out to dinner. She wore a crop top that completely covered her breasts, shoulders and the tops of her arms, but it fell short in covering her large baby bump.

She was also wearing a long, flowing, calf-length skirt. The mother attempted to go out to eat in Washington on Sunday night, but the staff refused to let her in. They claim her outfit violated the health code.

Charisha Gobin is a mother of four who is pregnant with twins. She's not shy about showing off her baby bump, but apparently, she freaked out some restaurant staff. When the 35-year-old mother tried to enter the Buzz Inn Steakhouse in Maryville with her mother and sister for a girl's night out, the restaurant refused to let her in.

A waitress told Gobin, "I'm sorry, you can't be here in this shirt."

The waitress pointed to the rules that say, 'no shirt, no shoes, no service'. According to the waitress, an exposed belly is a violation of the health code.

Gobin jumped on social media to complain about the restaurant, sharing an image of her outfit. "I was just denied service at the Buzz Inn on State Avenue in Marysville for my outfit. I'm violating the health code," she wrote.

Comments quickly poured in of people slamming the restaurant for the policy. One friend responded it was 'absolutely ridiculous'. "But some chick can go in with booty shorts and be just fine. Bulls--t!"

The restaurant posted an apology for the incident, claiming the waitress was trying to use her best judgement, but misjudged the situation.

"We sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding and will cover with all staff as to how to not overly enforce a rule that is intended to make all guests feel comfortable," said a statement from Buzz Inn Steakhouse.

"The server in question has been with our company and a great employee for almost 20 years and was trying to use her best judgement and by no means was trying to be demeaning to the guest. Again, our sincere apology for misunderstanding."

The apology might be too little too late, however. "Do they know how hot it is outside and how pregnant u are?" asked another person.

Some people on Facebook jumped to the restaurant's defense. You were right to refuse this woman service!! Pregnancy is a beautiful thing but exposing yourself this way in public, especially in a restaurant is just so completely and totally inappropriate!" said one commenter.

"I was pregnant and lived in an area where it was 120 on the daily. I still covered up and dressed appropriately when going out. She's gets no sympathy from me," said another.

Gobin believes the restaurant was discriminating against her for being pregnant. "Just because my belly was bigger and sticking out. But had it been anyone else, I don't think there would've been any problem whatsoever," she later said to KIRO 7 in Washington.

"I was wearing a shirt, it had sleeves. I didn't even have any cleavage showing. It's pretty ridiculous I was shamed in the first place and had to drive across town to eat. I was livid."
