Mom Abandons Her Blind, Autistic Son In A Field To Die - His Last Words Are Heartbreaking

A mother faces murder charges after police found her lying in a field next to her dead disabled son. The woman apparently spent days there waiting for her son to die because she wanted God to take him.

Kimberly Lightwine was struggling with being the caretaker of a 19-year-old autistic, blind child who could not take care of himself. The mother told police she got high on meth and brought her son Austin Anderson out to a field. She kicked him out of the car and laid on the ground with him waiting for him to die.

Austin begged his mother to take him into her arms and bring him home, but Lightwine refused and would kick him away. “No, you don’t want to love me. Please let God take you,” she would tell him.

Officer Billy Simpson found the two lying in the field. Austin was dead and Lightwine was nude and begging for water. She told the officer that 'she and God brought her baby into this world and that she had to help God take him out.'

Later, Lightwine admitted she killed Austin. “This is a crazy f—ed up world that I chose to live, and I killed my kid,” she told the officer. “It’s my fault, and you should charge me with murder right now for my son’s death, and I’m not joking. You should charge me. You should charge me for murder.”

Austin needed full-time care; he required medication to survive, needed to wear diapers and have them changed, needed to be fed, bathed, dressed and put to bed. His unnamed father said Lightwine had been getting angry and abusive with her son.

Lightwine faces 10 to 30 years for murder and up to 20 years for elder abuse. Her bond is set for $250,000.
