Minnesota Man Charged With Contacting ISIS And Threatening To 'Shoot Up' Walgreens

Abdul Raheem Habil Ali-Skelton, 23, is currently facing three felony counts of making terroristic threats. The Minnesota man was accused of lying to the FBI about when he last contacted ISIS. He was arrested in connection with a Sunday incident at a Minneapolis Walgreens.

Ali-Skelton went into the store before 3 a.m. and accused a customer of having a relationship with his girlfriend. He then allegedly advanced on the man several times and threatened to hit him with a bottle.

The store manager intervened and asked him to leave, that is when Ali-Skelton said he had a gun and would "shoot up the place."

On Tuesday, Ali-Skelton was in custody in Hennepin County Jail and held on $30,000 bail. Also, in July 2015, Ali-Skelton told FBI agents that he had last communicated with ISIL members in May or early June that year. Prosecutors say Ali-Skelton knew he had communicated with members of the group as recently as July 4, 2015.

Ali-Skelton is expected to plead guilty. His attorney in the federal case, Robert Richman, said his client was scared and made comments to the FBI that he has since admitted were untrue.
