Millions Of Americans Will Be Effected By The Executive Order President Trump Just Signed

President Donald Trump's campaign promises to tackle America's immigration issues have been a point of contention between liberals and conservatives. It comes as no surprise that President Trump's immigration efforts in his first week of office were met with criticism by about half the country. The president has a plan to try and help people understand why he feels his actions are justified.

The president has promised to make the southern border wall a reality and plans to focus on removing criminal illegal immigrants from the country promptly. He also signed an executive order on Friday that will temporarily ban immigrants from seven middle eastern, Muslim-majority nations. This action has resulted in protests across the country demanding the release of detainees.

The Trump administration has announced a plan to release a weekly report on crimes committed by immigrants. The order specifically reads, "To better inform the public regarding the public safety threats associated with sanctuary jurisdictions, the Secretary shall utilize the Declined Detainer Outcome Report or its equivalent and, on a weekly basis, make public a comprehensive list of criminal actions committed by aliens and any jurisdiction that ignored or otherwise failed to honor any detainers with respect to such aliens.”

Those who disagree with President Trump's stringent immigration reform efforts, unsurprisingly, also disagree with such a list. Andrew Stroehlein, media director for Human Rights Watch, calls the president 'xenophobic' and says, “The measures this administration has announced against immigrants in its first few days will devastate families – including US citizen families, naturally – and terrorize communities across the country.”
