Mexican Restaurant Called Out for Refusing to Serve Homeless Man

Vanessa Varona was eating at Taqueria Mexico with her family when she noticed a homeless man walk in hoping for a hot meal. Varona, who had once lived on the streets, offered to buy him dinner.

She was then appalled when a waitress then told him to leave. Varona told KDVR "Here comes a waitress and basically stood him up and said no you can't sit down here. I said no! He is human just like us and you will not treat him any different."

Varona then invited him to sit at her booth with her family. Taqueria Mexico staff member, Adiel Estrada, says that the homeless man was asked to leave because he was drunk.

Estrada said "It wasn't so much we kicked him out because he was homeless. He had been drinking so we asked him politely to leave."

Varona shared her experience on Facebook, which has been shared over 7,000 times.
