Meteorologist Told To Cover Up During Live Broadcast (VIDEO)

A weatherwoman in Los Angeles was in the middle of giving the weather report on the air when an arm holding a sweater appeared on screen next to her. The confused weatherwoman asked her colleague what it was about, and a voice is heard saying that emails had been coming in about her dress.

Liberté Chan, a KTLA meteorologist, showed up to report the morning weather in a beaded black dress. Many apparently saw the dress as 'inappropriate' for a morning weather report, and voiced their concerns by sending in quick emails to the station.

While the dress didn't over-expose Chan, the weathergirl did look like she'd stumbled to work in a cocktail dress after a night of clubbing. It was a nice dress, just not what you would consider business-like attire for the job at hand. Chan's colleagues couldn't help but jump on the opportunity to try and embarrass her.

“What’s going on?” Chan asked when the hand holding a sweater appeared next to her on the air. “You want me to put this on? Why, because it’s cold?”

“We’re getting a lot of emails,” said her co-worker.

“What?!” responded a shocked, laughing Chan. She put the sweater on, however, and proceeded with the broadcast, apologizing to viewers.

More emails came pouring in, along with social media comments, as people bashed the station for 'shaming' the woman on air.

Chan doesn't feel it was a big deal. She put on the dress in a pinch because the dress she was supposed to wear that day didn't work out for some reason. “I was simply playing along with my co-anchor’s joke,” Chan blogged about the issue.

Chan is more concerned about the criticism over her wardrobe. “It’s a dress, people. Can we talk about my weather performance?” she wrote.

Maybe it was just too early, and a lot of armchair fashion police just hadn’t had their coffee yet.
