Man's Encounter With Hospital Cleaning Woman Going Viral

It started out as just a bad headache. But before Dan Scott knew it, he was rushing to the emergency room to see his wife after she fell while doing volunteer work at the Arizona Salvation Army.

According to The Tennessean, upon his arrival to the hospital, his wife stopped breathing and went into a coma after having a brain aneurysm. Doctors had Scott believing that his wife would die. But after having a talk about God with the person who cleaned the hospital’s toilets, he changed his mind.

After Scott, who is the current pastor of Christ Church Nashville, spoke to custodian Genevieve Ruiz in Spanish, she asked why he was so sad. He told Ruiz it was because his wife was dying.

Ruiz, who worked at the hospital for 35 years, protested and said that it wasn’t true. So, Scott asked her how she knew this.

“I know,” she told him, according to The Tennessean. “Stop grieving. She’s going to walk out of there. She’s going to be OK.”

Something inside of Scott believed her. Six days later, his wife woke up from her coma. A year later, she made a full recovery. Scott believed that God spoke through the woman and that she changed the pastor’s outlook on the way God operates.

“Mostly God’s work happens away from church,” he told The Tennessean. “Genevieve helped me with that.”

He referred to the woman as a “gracious human being,” who is “every bit the servant of God that I was.”
