Black Man Accidentally Spills Coffee On Guy In Starbucks - Gets Attacked, Hit With Racist Rant

A Starbucks customer was tackled to the ground after he began a vile racist rant at those around him. He began the attack in response to getting a drink spilled on his suit.

Mr. William Boucher, 24, has been charged with four counts of aggravated battery in a public place and four hate crimes for his cruel and disgusting rhetoric as well as the physical assault of a homeless man. Mr. Boucher now faces up to 30 years in prison for his crimes.

Mr. Boucher was arrested and charged after he began to yell racist remarks to a fellow customer at a Starbucks in Chicago. Mr. Boucher’s tantrum began after someone accidentally spilled a drink on his cream suit while he was waiting in the coffee shop.

Mr. Boucher yelled a number of profanities, particularly targeting an African-American male, Gerald Mitchell, 30, and another unknown 34-year-old woman.

“Shut up slave. Do not talk to me,” Mr. Boucher yelled, before hurling insults at the man, claiming “your children are despicable vermin.” Mr. Boucher then demanded that Mr. Mitchell “Get on all fours right now! Get on all fours! Don't walk away on two legs!” before taking his tirade to the street.

Mr. Boucher proceeded to spit at the feet of Mr. Mitchell before he turned his anger towards a homeless man who was filmed approaching him. Mr. Boucher forcefully hit the homeless man, sending him into the pavement where he remained while onlookers assisted him.

It was then that other members of the crowd decided that enough was enough, managing to take Mr. Boucher down and keep him restrained on the ground until police arrived.

Starbucks staff and representatives have expressed their support for the individuals involved in taking out Mr. Boucher, stating: “We have absolutely no tolerance for this type of behavior in our stores, and are grateful to the partners (employees) and customers who stepped in to help until officers arrived.”

Mr. Boucher, who described himself as an “entrepreneur and socialist,” on his social media accounts, has posted 10 percent of his $50,000 bail and will return to court in the following months to be charged. If convicted of the crimes, Mr. Boucher faces a maximum of five years per aggravated battery charges and a maximum of three years per each hate crime incident.

Mr. Mitchell, who was one of the men who crash tackled Mr. Boucher, has told reporters that Mr. Boucher repeatedly spat on his face and kneed him while he held him down for 13 minutes until police arrived. “He said a lot of stuff that didn’t make it on the video,” Mr. Mitchell confessed.

“I try to see the good in people,” Mr. Mitchell continued. "I don’t know his background. I would try to give him the benefit of the doubt. I just know it was downright wrong. Disgusting.” Mr. Mitchell concluded the incident with hopes that Mr. Boucher would be remorseful for his actions and learn from his mistakes.
