Man Is Urinated On By Drunken Passenger On United Airlines Flight

As far as airline reputations are concerned, United Airlines has suffered a serious blow in the last 12 months. Now, a United Airlines passenger has complained that the man in the seat next to him urinated on him during a flight from Las Angeles, California, to Newark, New Jersey.

The outraged passenger, Daniel Card, has filed a lawsuit against United Airlines, alleging that he was exposed to another passenger’s “urinating penis” and left “soaked” by the time he exited the plane in Newark.

According to Mr. Card, the man who would later urinate on him was already drunk when he boarded the plane. Describing him as “heavily intoxicated,” and in a “drunken stupor,” Mr. Card has slammed United Airlines for allowing the inebriated man to get onboard an airplane.

The lawsuit against United Airlines – which has been filed in the Superior Court of New Jersey – also alleges that Mr. Card could easily smell “a powerful odor of alcohol coming from the man's breath and body.” Initial documentation from the Superior Court reveal that the man that Mr. Card describes has not been identified at this point in time.

Further details about the situation are revealed in Mr. Card’s affidavit. According to the statement, “As the flight was getting ready to take off, the passenger seated in 24E took out his penis, aimed it at Card and proceeded to urinate all over Card's leg.”

Mr. Card subsequently describes how he was unable to maneuver away from the repulsive man as he “was confined to his seat due to an imminent departure of the flight.”

The affidavit also describes the pungent aroma of alcohol that emanated from Mr. Card’s urine: “Upon being soaked in the passenger's urine, Card further noticed that the odor of the urine also emitted a powerful scent of alcohol.”

After being urinated on, Mr. Card tried to awaken the man from the drunken stupor he quickly slipped back into. When this didn’t work, the outraged passenger signaled flight attendants and tried to explain what happened.

During the ensuing conversation, Mr. Card also requested that he be moved to another seat so he could “avoid the continued humiliation, assault and inhumane experience of sitting in urine-soaked clothes on a urine-soaked seat.”

The statement of claim also details how Mr. Card – who, for the remainder of his journey, sat in clothes that were soaked in urine – contacted his father when he neared Newark. When the United Airlines flight landed in Newark, Mr. Card’s father and several FBI agents were awaiting the two men at the gates.

After questioning the intoxicated passenger, FBI agents concluded that the unnamed man had drank at least four rum and cokes before he boarded the plane and drifted into a drunken trance.

When pressed for a statement, a United Airlines spokesperson was unable to give any more information about the incident, telling the Daily Mail: “We have not yet been served with this suit and due to the pending litigation involved in this matter, we’re unable to provide further comment.”
