Man Shoots Cop 17 Times - Wait Until You See His Shirt

March Eugene Ratney had been let out on early release after serving only half of a 12-year sentence for a conviction involving a weapon, when he allegedly pulled a gun on his sister and threatened to kill her, FOX 29 reports.

Police are saying that Ratney is also the man responsible for shooting up the home of an officer of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

“Think about this, this is your home,” IMPD Chief Troy Riggs told FOX 59. “If there is one place in this world where you should always feel safe and your family should feel safe, it is in your home.”

According to FOX 59, the officer returned home around 2 a.m. when 17 shots were fired into his house, fence and police car. No one was injured in the shooting. Police said surveillance footage showed a car fleeing the scene. Ratney was picked up in a similar car a few blocks away within an hour of the shooting.

Police believe Ratney is the individual neighbors saw earlier that day wearing a Black Lives Matter t-shirt and screaming obscenities about police in their neighborhood.

“If we’re going to overcome issues in our community, whether perceived or actual, we’ve got to work together and we can’t tolerate this,” Riggs told FOX 59.

Ratney reportedly denied the shooting during his interview with police and urinated in the interrogation room.
