Man Opens Fire in Pennsylvania Walmart

A man walked into an East Stroudsburg Walmart brandishing a machete and toting two handguns. Thankfully, bad aim prevented him from killing anyone.

Andrew Joseph Todd, 20, of Mount Bethel, Pennsylvania walked into the Pennsylvania Walmart on Saturday night. Todd threatened to attack the shoppers and fired at least three shots.

Shoppers fled the store screaming after a witness saw Todd with the weapons and shouted for them to leave. Another shopper reports hearing a gun misfire.

“He was walking away from us down the aisle holding the gun to his head,” said witness James Felz.

Police responded within minutes to a 911 call. Police ordered Todd to drop his weapons, but he refused and aimed a gun at police. Officers fired, hitting Todd in the upper chest.

Todd was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

"There is no known further risk to the public," said a police spokesperson an hour later.

Had Todd had better aim and better knowledge of firearms, the entire incident could have been a lot worse.
