Man Held Hand In Air For Three Decades, Here's What His Fingers Look Like Now (Photos)

Sadhu Amar Bharati is an Indian holy man that became disillusioned with things going on in the world back in 1973, and decided to do something about it. According to Oddity Central, the man raised his right arm way back then – and it never came back down.

The man was previously an average citizen with all of the normal trappings of middle-class life, including a loving family and a job. He would decide to leave everything behind and dedicate his life to serving Shiva, a Hindu god. That wasn’t enough when he became further disillusioned with the rest of the world, and he decided to raise his right arm and keep it raised.

He realized success with his goal, so to speak, and has successfully kept his arm raised for decades. Part of that is likely because using it is simply not an option. Turns out that by keeping his arm in that position for such a long period of time, the limb has atrophied and is essentially useless. There’s a pretty good chance he was dealing with some excruciating pain while it devolved into this state, but that didn’t deter his determination to see it through.
