Man Gets What He Deserves After Using Squirt Gun to Spray Children with Semen

In Aug. 2013 and early 2014, Kevin Jaramillo, then 35, told seven boys and girls and an 18-year-old woman that he was making a video for his church to raise money to save puppies when he sprayed them with an unknown substance through a squirt gun.

When samples of the substance were taken from two of the victims, it was identified as semen. The Albuquerque, New Mexico man pleaded guilty to no contest and will serve 18 years in prison. He pleaded no contest to six counts of child abuse, one count of battery, two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor under 13, and one count of sexual exploitation of a child, as part of his plea deal.

The two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor under 13 come from an unrelated child molestation charge in 2014.

A father of one of the female victims said, "I wanted her to have good memories of her childhood. Now she has to remember this as part of her childhood. It took away her innocence and she did not have to go through this."

Another father of a female victim said “He’s tooken [sic] away her sense of security, she still hasn’t gone outside to play since that day." Jaramillo made a 15-minute statement during the sentencing, part of which the judge had to stop because it was unrelated to his case.

Jaramillo said, “I thought about everything, I realized that I needed to take responsibility for certain actions. Also, I did, myself, consider these individuals having to go to trial and testify, and I didn’t think that was fair.”

Jaramillo will serve 18 years in prison and up to 20 years of probation, as well as having to register as a sex offender.
