Man Gets Out Of Car After Striking 4-Year-Old, Worst Mistake He Could've Made

A neighborhood in Cincinnati, Ohio quickly devolved into a chaotic scene that would leave observers walking away shaking their heads. A chain reaction of events would see a four-year-old boy struck by a car, and the driver of that car being fatally shot after an ensuing argument. As WCPO explains, the incident happened in the blink of an eye - and in broad daylight.

Jamie Urton, 44, was driving along Kenton Street when he struck a four-year-old boy. No word on whether the driver was at fault or if the child just darted into the road, and it’s also unclear where the child’s caretaker was while he was being struck by a car. In any case, Urton stopped the car and got out, and that’s when all hell broke loose.

An argument ensued between Urton and several bystanders. It’s unclear if the argument was solely about the fact that he had struck the child, but things got heated in a hurry. Words were no longer doing the trick, and that’s when the bullets started to fly. Urton was struck by a bullet, and first responders were soon on the scene.

They would arrive to find him severely wounded. Urton was transported to a local hospital, and he would pass away later that day. Investigators are still trying to make sense of the whole bizarre incident, and it’s unclear if any suspects have been identified. Stunned local residents have indicated that gun violence is on the rise in the area, and at least one is holding out hope that things will turn around.

"Walnut Hills is a sacred community for everybody. A lot of our upcoming talent and kids that have a bright future come out of this same very neighborhood," shared one resident.

While that may very well be the case, that upcoming talent will have a much better shot at success if a greater example starts being set by other members of the community.
