Man Faces Jail Time For Proposing To His Girlfriend

Vidal Valladares Navas, 24, of Houston, TX had his friends and family stop traffic on the very busy I-45. He did so in order to propose to his girlfriend Michelle Wycoff, 23, in the middle of the highway.

Although Michelle said "yes," Vidal was charged for obstruction of a highway--which, is a class B misdemeanor. On Wednesday, he turned himself into police. He even smiled for his mugshot. He posted the proposal to Instagram.

He can face up to a $2,000 fine and six months in jail. Houston police said they are happy for the couple, but this is not something they would encourage. They added that people "can and have lost their lives stopping in traffic."

Vidal said, "I'm wanting to apologize to everyone if I caused any problems. That wasn't my intention in the beginning. I just wanted to do something different."

The I-45 was where the couple spent their second date on a motorcycle ride. Michelle also said that it was one of her favorite spots.
