Man Executed Following His Conviction Of Raping And Murdering A Baby - His Final Words Are Haunting

Oklahoma stopped administering lethal injections last year after one convict woke up during the procedure in great pain. The case against lethal injection was argued against the Supreme Court, but a split decision opened the way for the state to proceed with death penalty sentences.

The death penalty has always been a controversial topic, but after Clayton Lockett's botched procedure the state called off executions. An IV that had been improperly placed in his arm resulted in drawn-out suffering and turmoil for the convict.

Charles Warner, sentenced to death for raping and murdering an 11-month-old baby, was scheduled to be executed just hours after Lockett, but the investigation and court hearings stalled. Warner finally faced his sentence.

During the procedure, Warner complained, "My body is on fire. No one should go through this. I'm not afraid to die."

Other than complaining, Warner's body showed no other signs of distress or suffering.

The mother of Warner's victim did not want the man to be executed. She openly advocated he be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole because she feels the death penalty is against her religion.
