Man Drinks 10 Cokes A Day; Gains 23 Pounds In A Month (PHOTOS)

For most of us, one, maybe two, cans of the sugary soft drink Coke a day is all we are interested in. Some people, however, drink as many as a dozen cans of Coke or other sodas a day, much to the detriment of their health.

One California man decided to see just what happens when you drink 10 cans of Coke a day. So he went on a 30-day regimen of 10 cokes a day. During that month, BBQ entrepreneur George Prior’s healthy and muscular physique turned into a pot belly and love handles.

Prior, who is based in LA said: "I'm urging people to examine the amount of sugar in their diets. People need to be aware of the real and powerful damaging effects of sugar on their health."

He ended up gaining 23 pounds over the 30 days. He noted: "I also seemed to develop a craving for Cokes, or other sugars, during the time I was drinking Cokes. My blood pressure went up, from 129/77 at the beginning to 145/96 at the end."

Although he made an effort to stick to his usual, reasonably healthy diet of meat and berries, Prior noted it was difficult to eat as much food as usual because all the Coke left him not very hungry at lunch and dinner times.

Of note, when Prior stopped drinking the sugary soda he lost over five pounds in the first four days.
