Man Desperately Wants To Skip Work, Tries Stabbing Himself - Gets Arrested

A man from Kasugai, Japan who really does not like his job was arrested when he admitted he had stabbed himself in the hip to avoid having to go into work. The 54-year-old man told police that a stranger had attacked him with a knife in a public bathroom at a train station.

Everybody has called up your boss one day after a bender to say you’re just too sick to come into work. That said, it’s also important to maintain your perspective when trying to make your excuse legit.

Apparently, Masaru Miura was so sick of work earlier this year that he stabbed himself in the hip with a rusty knife in the restroom at Nagoya Municipal Subway station, Kasugai. Clearly not thinking straight, Miura next called police to report he had been attacked and stabbed by a strange man while he was using the bathroom

The man trying to stop blood flowing from a wound on his left hip when law enforcement arrived on the scene. Police questioned Miura about the attack he said had occurred. As the medical team worked to treat the victim’s 2.5 cm-long cut on his hip, police continued to question Miura about the attack. It did not take long before Miura’s version of events began to unravel.

The injured man eventually gave up and admitted to police he had stabbed himself. He said he did it because he was worried about work, and he happened to find a knife near the subway station, which gave him the idea stabbing himself might be a good excuse to not go to work that day. 

“I didn’t want to go to work so I did it,” Miura said ruefully. “If I got hurt I thought I would not have to go to work.”

It seems that Miura did indeed get the day off that day, but the bad news is officers arrested him later in the day on charges of interfering with police duties.
