Man Demands Sex From Woman At Gunpoint, Then Something Unexpected Happened

Some people just aren’t cut out to be criminals. In the bizarre, but not really that hard to believe category, we have a story out of the Big Easy where a man fell asleep while trying to rape a woman whose home he’d broken into.

Based on a preliminary NOPD police report, the suspect Darkyus Raymond entered the victim's home in central New Orleans in the late afternoon and then waited for her to return.

A few hours later, the 21-year-old woman came back home. Raymond then threatened her with a shotgun and demanded sex, according to the police.

The suspect also told the victim if anyone came to the house, to just lie and tell them she was alone, but apparently, the victim refused to cooperate.

The victim decided to try and engage the suspect in conversation because he was clearly tired and intoxicated. Her strategy worked, as Raymond fell asleep before anything happened and the victim managed to call the police.

When the police arrived, Raymond was arrested without incident. The suspect now faces charges of false imprisonment with a weapon, aggravated burglary and an outstanding warrant, based on county arrest records.
