Man Decides To Pop Bump On Face - What Comes Out? The Stuff Of Nightmares

A man decided to perform a do-it-yourself procedure on his face.

He filmed the abscess draining in his bathroom with a pair of scissors. Of course, he recorded the whole disgusting incident on video and posted it on YouTube. And of course, he racked up an insane amount of views.

YouTube user Jeremie Ramey was suffering from a painful tooth abscess that somehow went right through his cheek. He'd gone to the emergency room of his local hospital to get it checked out, and they treated the infection, but it just came back stronger than before. Jeremie decided to take things into his own hands. He drained the abscess over his bathroom sink, and filmed the whole, stomach-churning event.

An abscess is defined by WebMD as a 'tender mass' that is filled with 'puss and debris'. It happens when oil glands or sweat glands become clogged, and a soup made of a mixture of dead skin cells, bacteria, oil and other debris begins brewing under the surface of the skin. This type of infection can occur anywhere on the body, and the mass can be extremely painful. Antibiotics alone aren't enough to treat the mass; it has to be drained.

Generally, it's recommended that a doctor make an incision and drain the abscess of the gooey, runny contents. Doctors would generally not recommend people perform abscess drainage on themselves; in fact, they can potentially make the infection worse.

Jeremie decided to take matters into his own hands. After cleaning the area, he stood over the sink and he prodded the swollen, tender abscess on his jaw with the point of a pair of scissors. He finally managed to poke through the skin, then squeezed.

A yellow puss oozed and dribbled out, down Jeremie's chin and into the sink. It is not for the faint of heart, but there aren't many faint-hearted people on YouTube. People loved the video, and Jeremie has racked up more than 9 million views.

It worked out for Jeremie in the end, thankfully, and he didn’t end up with any ill-effects from his little self-surgery. On top of getting sweet relief, he raked in a lot of YouTube views. If his account is monetized, that's a pretty penny he could earn.

Oozing skin growths are big business on YouTube as there are entire channels dedicated to it. One popular channel is run by dermatologist Dr. Sandra Lee, aka 'Dr. Pimple Popper'. As the name suggests, Dr. Lee posts videos of pimple popping, blackhead removals, cyst and abscess drainage, ingrown hairs and any other gross procedure she's allowed to post.

Dr. Lee has more than 2.5 million followers, and has racked up more than 33 million views on just one of her videos. A lot of copy-cat channels and reaction channels are attempting to capitalize on Dr. Lee's niche, but the dermatologist is still the queen bee in that particular area of YouTube. Commenters share the sweet satisfaction they get from watching skin problems have the life squeezed out of them.
