Man Compares His Shopping Cart To Another - His Post Is Going Viral

A man vented on Facebook after he took a trip to the grocery store. After doing his best to stretch out what was left of his paycheck on diapers and fruit, he was furious to see someone else walk out with free food.

Patrick Gibson watched the things coming out of the cart of the people on line in front of him. According to Gibson, the load of groceries included 'steak and some other very nice choices of food.'

Gibson was then stunned when the shopper pulled out a wallet, pushed aside a wad of cash and paid for the two wagons full of food with an EBT benefits card.

In the parking lot, Gibson witnessed the same shoppers loading their groceries into a brand-new Hyundai Genesis, which he says costs about $15,000 more than the car he drives.

“I just thought I would take the time to tell this person/family that you are very welcome from all of us hard working/struggling to buy food Americans that have to foot the bill for your fancy steak feast,” Gibson said, "while I skip breakfast and lunch every day that way my wife and children have food to eat everyday, because $50-$75 dollars doesn't go very far. So you enjoy your $800 free grocery purchase."

No one knows the story behind the family’s huge food stamp purchase, but it certainly leads many people concerned about how the system is working. Rather, how the system is not working. There are a lot of struggling people—elderly couples, disabled veterans, people temporarily unemployed, etc.—who can barely scrape by on the benefits they’re given with canned vegetables and bags of beans. Others who simply make poor choices in life learn how to scam the system and get entitlements enough so that they can splurge on steak with taxpayer money.

Gibson’s post shows us that there are some major cracks in the system.
