Man Accused Of Disturbing Sexual Crime - His Alleged Victim Is An Animal

They say that crystal meth can really mess with your mind, but it doesn’t get much weirder than this story. According to numerous media sources, a 27-year-old Oregon man has been arrested for exposing himself and attempting to sexually abuse a chicken. Really, a chicken?

It seems that a man named Joshua Woltmon of Medford, Oregon has decided to plead not guilty to charges of sexual assault on an animal, public indecency, menacing and second-degree disorderly conduct. His defense attorney has not been identified.

According to court documents, Woltmon is accused of making contact with the chicken’s genitals with his penis for sexual gratification, and also threatening a man with sharpened sticks.

Other court records show that Woltmon was ordered to stay in contact with mental health professionals upon his most recent release from jail, but he is clearly off of his medications.

Of note, Woltmon has no earlier record of sexual offenses, but has been convicted of meth possession, according to media sources. The sources note Woltmon is also already awaiting trial for on charges of drug possession and trespassing.

He is scheduled to appear again in court on May 15th relating to the current charges.

Media sources also highlight that court records from a 2014 guardianship case claimed Woltmon suffered from bipolar disorder, and therefore was “unable to make informed decisions” for himself.

Bipolar disorder is a major problem in the US. Sometimes called manic depression, sufferers experience major shifts in mood and energy that impact the ability to carry out day-to-day tasks. These mood swings are much more severe than the normal ups and downs most people experience in their lives. Note that around 2.6% of the U.S. population suffers from bipolar disorder, and more than 85% of the cases are classified as “severe”.
