Madeleine McCann Case Takes Terrifying Turn, Investigator Claims Kidnappers Being 'Protected'

An ex-police investigator who worked the Madeleine McCann case for decades believes someone is protecting the kidnappers.

Retired Detective Inspector Dave Edgar also says there is simply no evidence to suggest Maddie’s parents Kate and Gerry were involved in the kidnapping.

Saying he believes a child-sex gang probably took the three-year-old girl, Edgar commented: “Someone knows what happened and it’s time they came forward.”

He noted in a recent interview: “If anyone confided in you, now is the time to come forward. Someone knows, it must be on someone’s conscience, please come forward.”

Of note, when little Maddie disappeared from her vacation villa, while her parents dined with friends, Portuguese police initially called Kate and Gerry suspects.

Edgar simply doesn’t buy into that theory.

“I was looking at everything and that would include them,” he noted. “If I found any evidence against Kate and Gerry I would have given it to the police immediately. Kate and Gerry would expect no less. But I found no shred of evidence.”

Edgar says Maddie could even still be alive.

Edgar is the owner of Alpha Investigations Group and was hired by the McCanns to dig into Madeleine’s disappearance.

Of note, the Metropolitan Police took up the Maddie McCann case in 2011.

Edgar mentioned that his team of investigators considered a variety of potential suspects, including Raymond Hewlett and Euclides Monteiro.

A convicted pedophile, Hewlett was living close to the resort the McCann’s were staying at during the disappearance. Hewlett died of cancer a few years later.

Edgar said although he fit the profile of a potential kidnapper, there was no proof he was involved.

Monteiro died in a tractor accident in 2009 and was also taken off the suspect list by Edgar.

According to Edgar, Maddie’s kidnapping was probably a planned operation by a single kidnapper or a child sex gang.

He pointed out: “There was a very narrow window of opportunity for them to get away with Madeleine. So it does point to it being planned and some level of surveillance, perhaps of the apartment. If the motive was gang-related child prostitution, there might have been more than one involved.”
