Luke Bryan Hit With Bad News

American country music star Luke Bryan reported that his infant niece, Sadie Brett, passed away on Tuesday. Sadie had been battling an illness and Bryan's fans had been offering prayers and well wishes to the family.

Sadie, the daughter of Bryan's brother-in-law Bo Boyer and his wife Ellen, was born over the summer with heart trouble. The baby had also contracted an undisclosed infection that took a toll on her liver. The infant was in dialysis and being treated for the variety of health issues when her little body gave out.

"We thank all of you for your prayers. Love y'all," Bryan tweeted, announcing her death.

Mrs. Boyer kept a Facebook page updating people on Sadie's struggles, which got a lot of traffic thanks to her famous uncle. On February 16, the baby seemed to be getting better. Her mother wrote that she had her 'best week yet this year.'

By the weekend, the little one's condition took a sharp downward turn. Her mother wrote, "Please flood the heavens with prayers," she wrote. "We will not give up on our tough, brave Brett."

The 2014 Country Music Association Awards Entertainer of the Year has suffered family tragedies before. Bryan lost his brother Chris, 26, in a car accident in 1996, and sister Kelly, 39, in 2007. The cause of her death is not known to this day; she was found dead in her own home just days after organizing a crowd of people to attend her brother’s Grand Ole Opry debut.

"My only older siblings ... gone from the world, in a flash in two, two different, crazy, tragic manners, that ... we'll never know, and never understand," Bryan said in an interview with ABC News.

When her husband, Bryan's brother-in-law Ben Lee Cheshire passed away in 2014, Bryan and his wife took in Kelly and Ben's son, Til.
