This Looks Like A Normal Home But Wait Until You See What Was Hidden In The Red Cooler

Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night can stop your mail carrier. These dedicated civil servants endure the nicest and nastiest of weather to make sure you get your mail on time.

Eight-year-old Carmine McDaniel is very aware of this, especially when his neighborhood of Newport News, VA hit 105 degrees Fahrenheit during a recent heatwave. Unlike most other children, Carmine wasn’t thinking about hopping in a pool or getting some ice cream that day.

All he could think about was if his mailman was going to be OK in the stifling heat, according to Little Things. McDaniel, who has a special friendship with his mailman, knew that the mail carrier spends all day outside in the heat so he left the mailman a special surprise on the porch to keep him cool.

“I just thought because it was really hot outside, and I didn’t want him to maybe pass out or anything, because they are really important so people can pay their bills and stuff like that, and I didn’t want him to pass out pretty much,” said Carmine.

The surprise was a small plastic red cooler filled with cold bottles of water and Gatorade with a note that read “Mailman: water and Gatorade in cooler. Have a good day :)” A hidden house security camera caught the mailman when he first saw his surprise.

“It makes it worthwhile,” said the mailman of working his job in the hot sun.
