Leaving Behind His Wife And 6 Kids, This Reality Star Is Dead At 46

Vince Jones, a co-star on History Channel's program Big Rig Bounty Hunters, died in Delaware, Ohio last week. Jones was only 46 years old.

According to his mother, Cathy Smith, his wife woke up at 4 am because the reality star was making funny noises. She then noticed he was barely breathing and his heart was beating erratically. Smith also pointed out that both his wife and Jones’ 14-year-old son performed CPR on him, but they were not able to revive him.

Jones was diagnosed with sleep apnea last year, according to entertainment media sources.

It is known that those who suffer from sleep apnea often stop and start breathing as they sleep.

Various media sources claim that Jones was not wearing his CPAP mask in bed on Tuesday night, which led to him being deprived of oxygen and likely triggered the heart attack.

Of note, Vince's daughter had a wedding last Saturday, and he was apparently in good health at the wedding.

Vince is survived by his wife and six children.

The History Channel reality TV show was a hit for two seasons in 2013 and 2014. In the show, Vince worked with colleague big rig bounty hunter Shawn Zimmerman as they traveled across the country trying to locate and recover lost, stolen or missing tractor-trailer rigs, towed vehicles or cargo on trailers.

“Vince is my best friend,” Shaun commented back in 2013. “He’s a brother of mine. I mean, I look at him more like family than I do friend.”

Vince commented about his role on the team:

“My job is to make sure Shawn is safe. He’s the brains and the mouthpiece of the operation, but I’m here to protect him. We’re the bad boys of truck hunting because we do whatever we’ve got to do to get our job done and don’t take no s*** for doing it.”
