Kidnapped Woman's Family Just Took Matters Into Their Own Hands, It's Brutal

A Louisiana family was horrified when they found out from a witness that their loved one had been abducted by her ex-boyfriend. The family organized a search and managed to find the culprit and free their loved one. They arrived in the nick of time.

Bethany Arceneaux, 29, was with her two-year-old son in her car on Wednesday when trouble began to stir. According to a witness, Arceneaux was in a parking lot honking her horn as someone was trying to force his way into the vehicle. The attacker managed to break into the car just as the witness rushed over.

Arceneaux couldn't escape, but before the abductor sped off with her, she managed to pass her son off to the woman.

The abductor was later reported to be Scott Thomas, 29, Arceneaux's ex-boyfriend and her son's father. Police began searching and found the woman's car near a field that night.

Family members began sounding the alarm. They distributed fliers, organized searches of the area and got the word out about Arceneaux. By Thursday, police had little to go on, but the family kept up their efforts.

On Friday, a family member got a tip from a local that Arceneaux was being held in a vacant house. Family members and neighbors jumped into vehicles and headed to the house to check. As they approached, they could hear the terrible screams of their loved one.

The family and friends burst in on Thomas, who was in the process of repeatedly stabbing Arceneaux. One member of the rescue party was legally armed and shot Thomas three times, killing him. They then carried the young mother to a vehicle to bring her to the hospital.

“She’s shook up, she’s sliced up, but she’s all right,” said her brother, Ryan Arceneaux.

Arceneaux has been released from the hospital and reunited with her son. Her family members will not be charged in the killing of Thomas, since according to a state law, it was a justified homicide.
