Kathy Griffin Questioned By Secret Service In Wake Of Outrageous Trump Picture

If you’re going to pose for pics while holding a faux bloody severed head that’s meant to represent a sitting president, there’s a good chance you’ll have to answer for your actions - in more ways than one. Comedienne Kathy Griffin has become awfully familiar with that concept of late, but she doesn’t seem to be getting the message. In fact, she’s gone ahead and played the victim card. No word on whether that worked when she had to have a chat with the Secret Service.

As the Daily Mail shares, Griffin has met with the Secret Service for over an hour regarding her incredibly bizarre decision. The questioning happened in spite of the fact that her attorney, Dmitry Gorin, viewed it as unnecessary, since it was just a ‘joke’ and all.

“She basically exercised her First Amendment rights to tell a joke,” he said during an interview. “When you look at everything in the media, all the times entertainers make videos or express themselves in other ways, you've never seen an entertainer, let alone a comedian, be subject to a criminal investigation.”

While there are many problems with Gorin’s take on things, we’ll focus on the fact that there’s nothing funny about what Griffin did. Her photo stunt represented something you would see from a jihadist, and that’s not exactly something that inspires a ton of laughter. While no one is suggesting that Griffin is a threat to President Donald Trump, it can certainly be perceived in that way. Hence, the Secret Service wanted to have a chat with her.

For Griffin’s part, based on the video of her preparing to upload the pic with her photographer, she was pretty clear on the fact that it was a bad decision. She did it anyway, and that was all in a bid to gain some attention. Griffin has been roundly bashed for her atrocious decision, and it’s impacted her career substantially. For this, she has no one to blame but herself, but she still sees herself as some sort of victim.

“I don't think I will have a career after this. I'm going to be honest, (Trump) broke me,” she has previously said.

If she ceases to have a career, that will also be her fault. Trump has done nothing to her personally, and we’ll assume he didn’t suggest that she pose with a fake bloody severed head. Griffin made that call, and any attempts to garner sympathy for her outrageous actions are downright sad and laughable.

“What's happening to me has never happened ever, in the history of this great country, which is that a sitting president of the United States and his grown children and the first lady are personally, I feel, trying to ruin my life - forever,” Griffin has said.

There’s no doubt that the First Family was upset with the disturbing pic, as was a large portion of the population. If you’re the one that’s doing the upsetting, there’s a good chance you’ll become a pariah. Just like Kathy Griffin.
