Kansas Man Murders Son; Feeds Remains To Pigs (PHOTOS)

A man in Kansas has been arrested on assault and child abuse charges, and is suspected in the murder and gruesome cover-up of his seven-year-old son.

The suspected murderer Michael A. Jones, 44, of Piper, Kansas was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated battery and child abuse after law enforcement responded to a domestic violence call at his rural home last week.

According to reports, Jones shot at his 29-year-old wife, Heather. As the investigation moved forward, police got a tip to search for the remains of Jones' seven-year-old son, who had been missing since last fall.

They later found human remains close to a barn at the back of the property where Jones was residing with his wife and eight children.

The charges were eventually upgraded to 'torturing or cruelly beating' his missing son. Of note, Heather Jones is not the mother of the missing boy, who is thought to be dead.

The other eight children lived in what was apparently substandard, and they were home schooled, according to a report from the Kansas City Star.

“Their house was horrible,” said a neighbor who spoke to the media. “Their house was just filthy. The kids lived in filth. Trash everywhere. Dried food all over the house.”

Missing Boy’s Body May Have Been Eaten By Pigs

Police note that Heather Jones purchased the pigs found on the property in September, close to the time the boy disappeared.

A knowledgeable source told several media outlets that the police suspected the boy's remains were fed to the pigs.
